Finance Associate – Asset Management

Summary

The Associate in Asset Management Finance will assist with the preparation of all finance related activities for Rialto Capital’s asset management business. Areas of responsibilities will include revenue and expense forecasting, financial reporting, budgeting, staffing projections, review of accounting for relevant departments, and IT initiatives related to financial management. The Associate will report to the Director of Finance in Asset Management, as well as work across various function areas including operations, compliance, accounting, IT and asset management deal teams. This position offers tremendous opportunity for an individual with an accounting/finance background looking for a “front-office” facing role, interacting directly with various deal-making personnel and senior executives within the firm. The Associate position will serve as the principle preparer and gatekeeper of all revenue and expense metrics across the various business departments that collectively form Rialto’s Asset Management platform. Additionally, this role may have opportunities to directly underwrite commercial properties held by Rialto Capital, and present underwriting results directly to senior investment committee members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the preparation of all finance activities for Rialto’s Asset Management business
  • Specifically assist in revenue and expense forecasting, financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, staffing projections and various IT initiatives related to financial management
  • Prepare and manage weekly CMBS Fee revenue pipeline to assist in earning forecast
  • Prepare recurring business performance metrics and trend analysis for utilized by senior management
  • Prepare and monitor expense budgets across multiple cost centers
  • Manage monthly CMBS loan inventory schedules, including CMBS compliance and appraisal data
  • Oversee CMBS Compliance related database and schedules (i.e. Appraisal Reduction Amounts (ARAs), Trust Collapse estimates, CMBS PSA information, etc.)
  • Prepare quarterly reconciliation and roll up of various loan loss data across hundreds of CMBS loans
  • Draft both qualitative and quantitative business materials for board of directors, investors and rating agencies
  • Work with various business models to forecast revenue and expense growth, and incremental staffing needs
  • Help oversee various internal IT projects mandated to support continued growth of Asset Management
  • Directly underwrite all types of commercial real estate assets and present results to senior investment committee members

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of public/private accounting and/or corporate finance experience mix, preferably within the financial services, real estate or asset management industry
  • CMBS, Real Estate investment exposure ideal
  • Public and private accounting mix preferable
  • Top-tier Microsoft Excel and Power point skills required
  • Organized and superb attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and within small to large teams in order to achieve business goals
  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting required
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills
  • CPA preferable

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop. The Associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Evening and/or weekend work may be necessary to meet deadlines.
