Investment Analyst – Credit


Candidate is expected to actively work on live prospective investments across various funds managed by Rialto. Candidate will develop ability to assess investment merits and risk qualitatively and quantitatively.


  • Assist with CMBS screening, underwriting, and trading
  • Build loan level cashflow modelling and bond level waterfall and calculate projected investment returns primarily in Excel
  • Monitor capital market developments and pricing changes daily
  • Underwrite potential new investment opportunities in asset/portfolio acquisitions, distressed loans, equity recapitalizations, CMBS, and mezzanine/preferred equity
  • Perform research on various markets throughout the U.S. and communicate with brokers in these markets
  • Prepare presentations for senior management and Investment Committee


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics or other related field preferred
  • Prior internship experience in Investment Banking, Sales & Trading, or Real Estate preferred
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) with emphasis in Excel
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • VBA and SQL are plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop. The Associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Evening and/or weekend work may be necessary to meet deadlines.
